Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight for the day-to-day operations of Bui Generating Station, ensuring sustained reliability, efficiency, and compliance with grid requirements.
Supervise and evaluate the operational performance of generation units, coordinating across shift teams to align dispatch with system demand and plant capabilities.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of operational policies, SOPs, emergency response procedures, and grid code compliance protocols.
Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to identify trends, recommend corrective actions, and support executive-level decision-making.
Oversee coordination with GRIDCo on supplementary reactive power compensation (reactive power support, VAR management) and real-time dispatch optimization, using generator capability and hill chart analysis.
Drive initiatives to enhance turbine and generator efficiency, leveraging performance data and collaborating with maintenance and planning teams.
Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis of operational anomalies, including system disturbances, protection trips, and start-up failures.
Mentor and develop engineering staff, supporting training programs, knowledge transfer, and professional growth aligned with departmental goals.
Participate in cross-functional committees for operational planning, outage scheduling, safety audits, and regulatory compliance.

Led shift-based hydroelectric generation operations, ensuring high plant availability, accurate energy dispatch, and strict adherence to operational safety standards.
Coordinated daily activities of the shift team, aligning personnel assignments with system load forecasts and operational schedules to maintain seamless plant performance.
Oversaw the issuance and execution of work permits in accordance with BPA Safety Rules and LOTOTO protocols, ensuring safe and compliant maintenance interventions.
Consolidated and submitted comprehensive daily operational and generation reports to internal departments and key external stakeholders, including GRIDCo.
Organized and delivered in-house technical training sessions, with a focus on protection code compliance, system alarms, and emergency operational procedures.
Reviewed and validated electrical and control schematics and led the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical systems such as turbine governors, excitation systems, and isolator interlocks.
